Can someone help me understand the materials needed to print on vinyl paper, with designs and all?

I am getting a Graphtec CE5000 plotter and cutter, but i have no idea how much the inks cost, and what king i should get. Also, im not sure what is the difference when you buy different color vinyls. Whats the difference?
